Spring Sports Information 2022

Spring 2022 Information

The following sports are offered in the spring: softball, baseball, boys’ tennis, girls’ tennis, boys’ lacrosse, girls’ lacrosse, boys’ outdoor track, girls’ outdoor track, unified track.

The season will begin on Monday, March 21 for everyone except for unified track. Unified track will begin in early April.

The challenge in the spring is that the weather controls whether practices/tryouts are inside or outside for some of the spring sports. We ask for your patience and we will do our best to communicate with families. We will try to decide about whether teams will be inside or outside by Friday, March 18. We ask that athletes be prepared for both indoor and outdoor practices/tryouts.

Requirements for tryouts:

  1. A parent/guardian must register athlete on Family ID. This must be done every season. Please click on the following link:https://www.familyid.com/programs/2022-spring-registrations

Please click on the link above and then scroll down to the button that says Register Now

  2.

  3. Physicals- A reminder to all freshmenjuniors, and anyone who hasn’t previously played a sport you will need a physical on file with the athletic office before tryouts to be able to start.
  4.  Convenient MD is an option for physicals (please call ahead) if you are not able to see your primary doctor.
  5.
  6. Athletic policy meeting- This meeting is for any parent/guardian who has not previously attended a policy meeting. This meeting will be a zoom meeting on Tuesday, March 15 at 6:30pm. Please email the athletic director for the zoom link.
  7.
  8. Academic eligibility- A student must have an overall grade of a C- (1.7 GPA) or better in the second marking period. No student who has failed to pass in four units of work during the second quarter shall represent the school in any interscholastic contest. A minimum course load of five units per grading quarter is required for participation. Third marking period grades will post in early April which will determine whether an athlete remains on a team. Fourth quarter grades determine fall eligibility and summer school does not count towards eligibility. Teacher aide, office aide, and driver education do not count as units when determining eligibility.
