Assessment Policies and Procedures

  1. 1.  All one-period classes will meet for a single, two-hour block during the assessment week. Double-period classes will meet for two blocks.
  2. 2.  Teachers may use the block period class for either assessment or instruction (or some combination of both).
  3. 3.  Normal school attendance procedures and policies apply. Students who are absent from school may not participate in co-curricular activities or athletics on that day.
  4. 4.  Students must take their assessments during the scheduled period for each of their classes. Students must get administrative permission to change an assessment time.
  5. 5.  Study halls, Freshman Seminars, and lunches will not meet during the assessment period; students without rides or parent authorization to leave school should report to the cafeteria. The library and the Academic Support Center will also be available for quiet study.
  6. 6.  Strategies for Success, GOALS and Directed Study sections will meet as usual.  Math support will be available in the Academic Support Center during the assessment week.
  7. 7.  Bus service will be provided on the normal morning schedule and at 11:45 for afternoon dismissal. A late bus will run at 2:15 each day.
  8. 8.  There is no cafeteria service on the assessment days.  Students who are staying at school through the make-up period should bring a lunch.
  9. 9.  In the event of a weather cancellation, the schedule will adjust forward one day.  Both assessment periods will meet after a delayed opening (minus the make-up period).
