Grad Requirements

We are pleased to inform you that this past June the Hudson School Board approved our school’s proposal to raise the Alvirne High School graduation requirement from 23 to 24 credits, beginning with the class of 2021 (our rising juniors).  The 23 credit requirement remains in place for the class of 2020, this year’s senior class.

Our goal is to provide students with the knowledge and skills needed for college and career readiness as well as civic participation in an increasingly complex world. From Creative Writing to Welding, AP Biology to American Sign Language, Alvirne students have many unique learning opportunities through our rich variety of course offerings.  The additional credit can be met through elective courses, including Extended Learning Opportunities and internships where available, that appeal to our students’ interests and support their goals.  As always, our school counselors are here to help you and your child develop an appropriate schedule and graduation plan.

Please don’t hesitate to contact myself or Principal Steve Beals if you have questions or concerns.
